Returning to the Greens: A Golfer’s Triumph

“I am happy to share my positive experience as a patient of Middlesex Orthopedic and Spine Associates (MOSA). I’ve been an avid golfer for years–I’ve walked an estimated 15,000 miles on the golf course since I retired in 2002! I noticed a few years ago that I was in a great deal of pain in my knee when going up or down any sort of incline, which is impossible to avoid on the golf course. I knew I needed to get it checked out.

I saw Dr. Prioreschi after a recommendation from Middlesex Hospital. I felt a lot of confidence in him and his physician assistant Nicole. They explored nonsurgical options for me, including multiple injections, but the pain returned. After discussing it with Dr. Prioreschi and Nicole, I realized that I would benefit from surgery. I was ready to be pain-free.

I was determined to get better and return to the golf course. In October 2022, I underwent a total knee replacement, and the whole experience was seamless. Dr. Prioreschi took a minimally invasive approach by using computer-navigated, robotic technology.

Following the surgery, I worked with dedicated physical therapists and stuck to my recovery exercises—and it paid off. Dr. Prioreschi shared in my joy and was just as delighted with the successful outcome of the surgery. He is an excellent surgeon and a very caring person.

I now have no pain, and I’m back on the golf course, playing the game I love. I recommend Dr. Prioreschi to everyone I meet on the golf course and would recommend him to anyone in the world who needs similar care. My fellow golfers jokingly call me the “the Bionic Man” and “The Legend.” I even achieved a personal golf milestone in May 2023 and have been featured on social media accounts for the course I play at.

I am extremely grateful to Dr. Prioreschi and the team at MOSA. I couldn’t be happier with the results of my surgery, and I can enjoy 18 holes totally pain-free once again.”
